About Urinary
Tract Infection (UTI)
UTI, most commonly
referred as Urinary Tract Infection is mainly caused by a bacteria
in one of the tract were urine acutally passes through. Mostly urethra,
ureters, or the urinary bladder are the common places in which infection
occur.
Compared to
men, women are mostly affected due to UTI but there is no specific
reason to prove the fact. Bladder infection otherwise called Cystitis
is one of the common urinary tract infections.Urinary tract infections
are caused by a type of bacteria called Escherichia coli (E. coli)
which normally lives in the colon.Other micro-organisms such as
Chlamydia and Mycoplasma causes UTIs in both men and women and these
cause urinary tract infections in the urethra and reproductive system
only.
UTI Symptoms
A frequent urge
to urinate and a painful, burning feeling in the area of the bladder
or urethra during urination are some of the common symptoms of urinary
tract infections .In women, feeling an uncomfortable pressure above
the pubic bone is one of the symptoms of urinary tract infection
and in men,experiencing fullness in the rectum is an symptom of
urinary tract infection.
Other symptoms
of urinary tract infection is that the urine may look milky or cloudy,
and reddish at times due to the presence of blood. When the infection
affects the kidneys,fever can be one of the symptoms of urinary
tract infection.
