Facial Blackheads - An Overview

Blackhead is a condition affecting the face of the individuals. It is a precursor for pimples. Controlling blackhead occurrence will lead to control of acne. The excess sebum collected in the pore become infected and oxidized to form a black color. Let us discuss about the natural products available for treating the facial blackheads. Burdock root and red clover are powerful blood cleansers. Milk thistle aids the liver in cleansing the blood. A poultice using chaparral, dandelion, and yellow dock root can be applied directly to the areas of the skin with acne. Moon Dragon's Health Therapy: Using A Poultice, Lavender, red clover, and strawberry leaves can be used as a steam sauna for the face.

Lavender kills germs and stimulates new cell growth. Using a glass or enameled pot, simmer a total of 2 to 4 tablespoons of dried or fresh herbs in 2 quarts of water. When the pot is steaming, place it on top of a thick potholder on a table, and sit with your face at a comfortable distance over the steam for 15 minutes. A towel can be used to trap the steam, if desired. After 15 minutes, splash your face with cold water. Allow your skin to air dry or pat it dry with a towel. If desired, you may follow the treatment with the use of a clay mask.

Tea tree oil is a natural antibiotic and antiseptic. Dab full-strength of tea tree oil (sparingly) on blemishes three times a day, or add 1 dropper full of tea tree oil to 1/4 cup warm water and pat it on the affected area with a clean cotton ball (be sure to use 100-percent cotton). Tea tree soap works well, too. 1 teaspoon green clay powder (available from health food stores} and 1 teaspoon raw honey should be blended together well and apply the mixture to your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave it on for 15 minutes, and then rinse with lukewarm water. Other beneficial herbs include alfalfa, cayenne (capsicum), dandelion root, Echinacea, and yellow dock root. Kombucha tea, which has antibacterial and immune-boosting properties, has been found by many people to be beneficial for facial blackhead.
