are, Medical Treatment -Glucosamine and Chondroitin. Glucosamine
is a major component of cartilage, and Chondroitin enhances the
formation of cartilage and inhibits enzymes in the joint, which
tend to break down cartilage. Corticosteroids- an anti-inflammatory
drug usually used as a last resort because of negative side effects.
Vitamin C Small doses may be safe, but Vitamin C is not recommended
for cats that are on special diets for UTIs. NSAIDs (Non-steroidal
Anti-inflammatory Drugs) we need to limit the use of these drugs,
as they are contraindicated in cats.
